I believe that every great piece of writing has a beating heart, has the pulse of storytelling running through its veins.
Storytelling is needed to transport readers to opaline Grecian waters, to taste the sweetness of a fig alight on their tongue; it is needed to sell brands and project buyers into a world where that product is pure magic; it is necessary for escape into the rich worlds of novels, of poetry.
The art of storytelling is a precious commodity; it is employed across all. When you read a good piece of writing, you can feel its heart thrumming through the pages, hear its wild beckoning call to grab its hand and be taken to a new place.
We’ve had time travel all along.
It’s called storytelling.

ABOUT
Delila Bevan Zavadsky is an Australian writer with a Bachelor of Creative and Professional Writing. She was awarded first place for the Alan Marshall Award, named a scholarship recipient for the Faber Academy Writing a Novel Course, long-listed for the Richell Prize, and shortlisted for the QUT Allen and Unwin Writer’s Prize. Most recently, Delila won the 2025 Love Letter to Queensland competition hosted by the Whitsundays Writers' Festival.
Alongside her self-published poetry collection, Write the Waves, and musical release on Spotify, her work has been featured in a diverse range of publications including: Stay Awhile, Est. California, We Are Explorers, Indulge, The West End Magazine, and Voiceworks. She is currently seeking publication for her debut manuscript.
